Basking.io_Workplace-Occupancy_powered-by-Cisco-Meraki

If you’re a Meraki customer, you can use our integration with the Cisco Meraki Scanning API to enable Basking’s software for your locations. We provide a cloud to cloud integration that is easy to set up and secure.

The following article explains how to set up the Basking Cisco Meraki integration using the Scanning APIv3

Please note that the Scanning APIv2 is no longer supported by Meraki and should be avoided if possible.

Requirements for the Integration

Integrating Basking with Meraki is straightforward. All you need to get started is:

  1. Admin access to Meraki’s admin dashboard.
  2. Basking’s URL for each Network that has to be configured.
  3. A secret provided by Basking.
  4. Provide the Validator to Basking.

Integration Steps

Here are the steps for integrating Basking into your existing Meraki dashboard:

  1. Open the Meraki Dashboard, and navigate to Network Wide > General settings
  2. Turn on the API by selecting Scanning API enabled in the dropdown box
  3. Note the validator and send it to Basking
  4. We’ll come back with the URL and a secret
  5. Fill in the URL: “https://meraki-v3.connect.basking.io/XXXXXXXX/“. Please mind the final “/” in the URL, it is mandatory
  6. Fill in the secret
  7. Choose WiFi From the Dropdown menu
  8. Select API Version 3.0. Note: for V2 see our Scanning APIv2 guide.
  9. Repeat steps 5-8, but select Bluetooth instead of WiFi.
  10. Save the changes in the Meraki dashboard.
  11. Finally, validate the Post URL status by clicking on the “validate” button for WiFi and Bluetooth. You will see, after a short time, that the Status lamp should be green, confirming that the connection has been successful.
